Patrimonio Digital Complutense: basic guide

Guide about the use and contents of the portal for the diffusion of the Complutense Digital Collection (https://patrimoniodigital.ucm.es/)

Mirador Viewer

Mirador Viewer allows you to view and interact with the works digitised locally in the libraries of the Complutense University as opposed to those whose images have been obtained through participation in the Google Books project and whose access is carried out through a different viewer that we will see in the following section.

Viewing options

Mirador offers two viewing modes: Book mode(Book) which provides access to the images individually, and Gallery mode (Gallery) which offers the possibility of accessing a specific page through the presentation of its pages in a smaller size.

In both cases, there is the possibility of adding additional navigation through the arrangement of thumbnails on the same screen.

Downloading images

Click on the Download option to access the image download options.

Depending on the display option chosen, we will be able to choose:

- The number of the page we want to download

- Image resolution.

After this process, the image must be saved by the user on his or her computer by clicking on the right button of the mouse and selecting the option "Save as" and selecting the desired location.

If the work is available in PDF version, this option will appear among the download options.

Share

Through the Share option we can obtain the web address of the document we are consulting, which has this form: https://patrimoniodigital.ucm.es/s/patrimonio/item/141

PDC also offers the possibility of sharing a digital object of interest through the IIIF protocol, which allows images to be viewed in any other viewer that supports this protocol.
